individuals who are driven to succeed. Responsibilities: The Tax
Paralegal will support the tax function with a primary focus on tax
controversy matters, tax authorizations, and end-to-end lifecycle
management of tax notices and inquiries. Additionally, this role
will support tax planning and M&A work. This role requires
strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple matters
simultaneously, and experience coordinating with internal
stakeholders, taxing authorities, and external advisors to ensure
accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Manage the full lifecycle of
federal, state, and local tax notices, including intake, tracking,
escalation, resolution, and documentation Coordinate responses to
tax authority inquiries, audits, and examinations under the
direction of tax professionals or counsel Maintain organized
records of correspondence, filings, deadlines, and outcomes related
to tax controversy matters Monitor deadlines to ensure timely
responses and avoid penalties or interest Prepare, submit, and
track tax authorizations (e.g., powers of attorney, tax information
authorizations) with federal, state, and local taxing authorities
Ensure authorizations are accurate, current, and properly
maintained Coordinate updates, renewals, and revocations of
authorizations as needed Assist in gathering financial, accounting,
and business records from internal client departments; coordinate
with third?party providers to retrieve supporting files (bank
statements, payroll reports, sales records, etc.). Coordinate tax
payments related to assessments, notices, settlements, or audit
outcomes Liaise with internal finance, treasury, and accounting
teams to confirm amounts, payment methods, and timing Track
payments and confirmations to ensure accurate application by taxing
authorities Draft clear and accurate written responses to tax
notices and information requests, subject to review by tax
professionals or counsel Prepare supporting documentation and
schedules required for both controversy submissions and M&A
matters Maintain standardized templates and processes to promote
consistency and accuracy Maintain tracking systems and logs to
manage tax matters from initiation through resolution Assist in
developing and improving procedures to enhance efficiency,
accuracy, and compliance Support reporting on the status of tax
matters for internal stakeholders Qualifications: Prior experience
supporting tax controversy, tax compliance, or tax legal matters
preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage
multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously Excellent written
communication skills with attention to accuracy and detail Ability
to work collaboratively with tax, legal, finance, and treasury
teams High degree of discretion when handling sensitive and
confidential information Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s
Degree required Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 The actual base salary
will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a
wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant
skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or
certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive
benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance,
paid time off and a 401(k) retirement), this position may be
eligible for additional types of compensation including
discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives
(e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
