Responsibilities Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge
specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate as necessary.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection
methods clearly and courteously. Demonstrate techniques using
straight needles and butterfly needles. Fully understand all
physician orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen
tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer labels
against scripts for accuracy. Package specimens for transport and
store them at the required temperature. Comply with OSHA and DEP
regulations. Attend annual department training sessions. Respond to
telephone inquiries and read laboratory results. Essential Skills
Proficiency in blood draws and venipuncture Experience with
specimen labeling and processing Knowledge of laboratory protocols
Ability to work independently and make decisions Additional Skills
& Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
Confidence in decision-making Problem-solving skills Reliability
and self-sufficiency Work Environment The schedule is Monday to
Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, with about 25 draws per day. The role
mainly involves working with adults and geriatrics, with occasional
pediatric patients. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire
position based out of Northbrook, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay
range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility
