Job Description
Position Title: Speech/Language Pathologist
Supervisor: Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Purpose: To identify, evaluate, and provide services to eligible students ages 3-21 years of age who have communication difficulties which impact their educational performance (speech, fluency, language, voice, and communication).
Essential Functions: In order to perform this job successfully, the Speech/Language Pathologist must be able to regularly perform the following.
Serve as the Case Manager for IEP Speech/Language only students. Identify the need for and complete the necessary speech-language screening and/or evaluation to determine student eligibility for special education
Design, implement, and revise student IEPs based on assessment data. Provide progress monitoring and share data and information related to student performance on IEP goals and objectives with students, parents, and team members. Consistently communicate with staff, parents, and appropriate others regarding student needs, programs, and progress.
Participate in building based intervention programs for the purpose of identification, evaluation, and design based on student needs.
Utilize technology to enhance and support the educational needs of students. Act as liaison between private/parochial outside agencies and school personnel.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret student data and assessment information. Ability to write reports, effectively present information, and respond to questions from colleagues, parents, students and administrators.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Gmail, Powerschool and other school relevant data systems, Aesop Absence Management, Skyward employee access, and other relevant systems for integrating technology in the classroom. Should also have knowledge of and skills to use Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets Spreadsheet software as well as Microsoft Word and/or Google Docs Word Processing software.

Valid Illinois State Teaching license with appropriate endorsements
