RN Administrative Supv NE Float Pool# GENERAL SUMMARY:Responsible for provision of quality patient care 24 hours a day.# In doing so, interprets and enforces established policies and procedures, serves as clinical and administrative resource person and intervenes in difficult situations or medical crises.# Assumes overall responsibility for adequate staffing in collaboration with nurse managers and clinical leaders. # PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:# (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except those that begin with the word #May.#) # 1.## Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.# This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs. # 2.## Oversees activities and operation of patient care areas units during assigned shift by conducting regular rounds to meet with charge nurse to discuss staffing and patient care issues.# # Interprets and enforces hospital and department policies and procedures for employees, physicians, visitors and patients. # Notifies appropriate management team members of unusually complex occurrences and all sentinel events.# Provides written documentation and reports as required. # 5.## Ensures adequate nursing staff coverage is maintained by relocating employees as necessary, approving overtime coverage or assigning personnel from float pool. # 6.## Coordinates inter- and intra-department activities related to delivery of patient care such as assisting in resolving patient admission and transfer problems, securing supplies and equipment when not available from appropriate departments, and obtaining needed records from medical records or laboratory. # 7.## Participates in evaluating work of patient care personnel, and recommends discipline and, when necessary, discharge of subordinates according to established policies.# Initiates counseling and/or corrective actions as appropriate in response to employee violations of policies and procedures regarding patient care, public and staff relations, work rules and so forth. # Maintains cooperative working relationships with a variety of Hospital personnel/medical staff members in order to coordinate delivery of patient care, and to gather and exchange patient care information. # Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in patient care management by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars and the like. # Serves on Committees as appropriate. # INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY RN Administrative Supervisor Float Pool Hours: Part#Time Will work 24#hours in a two week period. Hours: Part Time Will work 24 hours in a two week period. Nights Hours 7:00pm-7:30am Rotate weekends/Holidays

Location: Elmhurst Hospital 155 E Brush Hill Road Elmhurst, IL.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

* Required Education and/or Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field
* Minimum three years of previous management/supervisory experience

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

* Master's Degree
* Required License and/or Certification:
* Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
* Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross
