State licensure Job Details Provide quality mental health care to
incarcerated adult men on Rikers Island. Conduct mental health
evaluations, crisis intervention, assessments, and follow-up care.
Determine and coordinate disposition of patients for appropriate
level of mental health care. Coordinate with Reentry Social Workers
for discharge planning services. Complete required statistical
reports and documentation. Collaborate with Department of
Correction to ensure access to patients, proper housing, and
treatment disposition. Coordinate patient care with other
institutional programs. Develop and lead group treatment on mental
health observation units and other assigned units. Participate in
clinical supervision weekly with Clinical Supervisor. Participate
in mental health and medical rounds as assigned. Participate in
case conferences and treatment planning for patients receiving or
considered for mental health treatment. May conduct psychological
testing as assigned. May supervise social work interns or student
volunteers as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by Unit
Chief, Assistant Unit Chief, and Clinical Supervisor. Job
Requirements Mental health clinician role requiring relevant mental
