Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:The cook prepares specified menu items for patients, cafeteria, catered services and ensures adherence to sanitation, safety, and food handling procedures.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:

• High School Diploma or GED or a minimum of two years of cooking experience in an institutional setting
  • Proficient writing and quantitative skills
    • Ability to concentrate during periods of high pressure
      • Detail orientedLicense/Certification Required:
        • State of Illinois Food Handler Training Certificate Program (ANSI Accredited) within 30 days of start date of position for employees working on their Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate.
